The Government of Canada and United Way Southern Interior BC granted SD83 Wellness Centres funding under the COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund.  This funding was used to provide SD83 students with increased access to the health and wellness supports they need to cope positively with life changes as a result of COVID19.  Some of the barriers to access services have been removed with enhanced technology and connections to students virtually, decreasing isolation.

Any student in SD83 can now access a confidential, online chat with a mental health support worker. If a student is looking for mental health resources or information about the Wellness Centres their questions can be answered safely and securely.  Our 100% confidential encrypted online-chat support and confidential consultation is there to help students find what they need regardless of the school they attend.

Shuswap North Okanagan Division of Family Practice

The Shuswap North Okanagan Division of Family Practice is a community-based group of family physicians working together – and with health authorities and community partners – to achieve common goals.

This video clip interview is a highlight of the new Sullivan Wellness Centre funded by SNO Division of Family Practice. Dr. Richard Currie and Coordinator Monica Kriese discuss the success in the first 4 months since opening in March 2018.

Donation by the Graduating Class of 1997

Thank you to the class of ’97, who with the left-over money from their 20 year reunion purchased us an infared space heater and two bean bag recliners.  Gina Genn (centre)

The students had a great time with the boxes the bean bag chairs came in.
